The worldwide rollout of the Spotify Lyrics feature started a few days ago. The lyrics should appear when you select the Now Playing tab while listening to a song.
However, many users report that the lyrics feature is not available to them in Spotify app no matter what they do.
Spotify lyrics not showing up on iOS/Android app for many
Spotify Lyrics feature is available for web version as well as iOS and Android app. However, many reports agree that the option is not available in the app (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11).
Hey guys, I was wondering if there’s a problem with my account/app because I can’t see the lyrics. I have version 8.6.80.1014 and the lyrics work on my other (free) account. Tried to log out multiple times, no change. I reinstalled the app 2 times and cleared app data – no change.

Family account owners are reportedly not getting the feature yet
Some reports agree that they are the main account of a family plan. This raises the suspicion that the main user or owner of a family account would not get the feature yet.
Seems like lyrics aren’t showing up on accounts that are family owned. Everything works fine on any other account in the same family. I created a new account and lyrics show up, but when I switch to my main account where I’m a family owner, the lyrics just disappear.

Introduced feature for specific users
The lack of Lyrics feature in Spotify app for many users may be due to the gradual rollout.
Lyrics will continue to be provided for all users. Not everyone has it yet. It’s possible that some users will see it in one app and not the other.
If you look at previous features, they are generally rolled out over several weeks. I know it’s hard to maintain, but that’s how most tech companies usually roll out new features.

Update 1 (November 25, 2021)
4:29 p.m. (ACTUAL): A Spotify community mod recommends the following to potentially fix the issue:
First, we recommend logging out twice in a row and then logging back in. It sounds a bit strange, but it forces a sync between the account and your device.
If that’s not enough, did you mention that you’ve already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall since it’s more thorough than a regular one?
If the problem persists after following these steps, could you try a different internet connection? (Source)

4:18 p.m. (ACTUAL): While many users are finding it difficult to get the text feature, some seem to be looking for ways to disable it. In case you’re one of the few, here’s what Spotify Support has to say:
It is currently not possible to disable lyrics. Thank you for sharing your idea. It’s worth adding to our ideas board at https://bit.ly/3y96UaH. Others can then vote on it or join the conversation to show their support. We’re only there when you need us. (source)
Update 3 (April 18, 2022)
1:53 p.m. (ACTUAL): A Spotify community moderator has now confirmed that the lyrics feature is now available for all users.
Update 4 (15 Aug 2022)
09:45 (ACTUAL): Many Spotify users are logging in now (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8th) that the text function does not appear or work in the desktop app and web player.
Fortunately, Spotify support has recognized this issue and confirmed that it is currently under investigation. In the meantime, here is a desktop app workaround that might fix the problem temporarily.
I had the same problem with both the desktop application and the web version. The desktop application started showing the lyrics after updating the software, i.e. downloading the new setup file from the Spotify website instead of the Windows Store. But the web version still doesn’t show the lyrics icon for any song. (Source)
